EDISON — More than 500 participants warmed up, danced, attended health screenings and walked around the lake in Roosevelt Park Sept. 25 as part of Middlesex County’s annual Senior Health and Fitness Walk.
In celebration of Active Aging Week, the walk is co-sponsored by the Middlesex County Office of Aging and Disabled Services, along with various senior centers throughout the county.
“We were blessed with a beautiful day for this event,” Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios said. “I am pleased with our county staff and partners who, with the support of the Board of Chosen Freeholders, showed their dedication to keep our seniors healthy, active and engaged here in Middlesex County.”
Walkers followed a route around the lake at Roosevelt Park.
In addition to physical activities, attendees also enjoyed a complimentary lunch, information booths, health screenings and raffle prizes.
