Queen contest to benefit Women’s Health Center

CentraState Medical Center’s Ball King/Queen Contest and Fashion Show will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Encore event center and iPlay America, Schanck Road, Freehold Township. This year, Miss New Jersey, Cara McCollum, will be the special guest.

The contestants, all between the ages of 16 and 21, are raising funds for CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Women’s Health Center. Proceeds will support the center’s expansion and new equipment. The contestant who raises the most money will be crowned as Queen of the Ball on Jan. 18, according to a press release.

This year, seven young women will compete for the crown. Each contestant is responsible for raising her own funds. Prizes and scholarships will be awarded to the top three finalists.

The queen contestants are Francesca Denbigh of Freehold, sponsored by San Marzano Restaurant; Megan Kauth of Old Bridge, sponsored by Martz & Cosgrave; Jackie Lynch of Freehold, sponsored by the Freehold Fire Department; Dayna Morelli of Manalapan, sponsored by Gordon and Miller; Aileen Ryan of Freehold, sponsored by the East Freehold Fire Company; Michelle Player of Howell, sponsored by the Adelphia Fire Company; and Samantha Trembly of Howell, sponsored by Beauty In Bloom.

Fashions for the show will be provided by Lord & Taylor of the Freehold Raceway Mall. Entertainment will be provided by Xplosive, photography by David Todd, and hair and makeup by Avanti Spa, Manalapan.

The cost to attend the event is $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Tickets include food, limited drinks and access to the gift auction.
