MANVILLE: Fire Prevent Week open house moved to Monday night

Predicted bad weather forced Thursday night event

Predicted inclement weather forced the postponement of Fire Prevention Week open house activities Thursday night.
Fire fighters from all three companies will be available from 5:30-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at Firehouse No. 2 on North 13th and Washington avenues.
Children and their parents can see all three borough fire companies’ trucks and rescue boats and make their way through the smoke house, which is a simulated fire scene that teaches kids to get out of the house during an actual fire.
There will be a live extrication from an automobile, smoke detector raffles, smoke extinguisher training, snacks and giveaways.
Firemen and Fire Marshal Pat Renaldi will on hand to answer questions about fire safety.
During Fire Prevention/Fire Safety Week, firefighters visited borough schools and the senior citizen center.
