Colonial American Bank presented Robert Solomon of Colts Neck with an iPad Mini for being the winner of the “Guess the Pennies” contest at the new Shrewsbury branch office at 490-B Shrewsbury Plaza.
Solomon’s entry of 8,875 pennies was the closest guess to the actual amount of 8,897 pennies in the jar. The contest ran from May 29 through Sept. 3, whereby members of the community who visited the branch were entitled to one entry per day.

Hamilton Jewelers has been named the 2013 Family Business of the Year by the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurship at Fairleigh Dickinson University. The award was presented on Oct. 16.
For 21 years, the Rothman Institute has been recognizing family businesses that demonstrate strong business acumen, active family engagement, innovation and community involvement. The awards program recognizes companies for outstanding civic and corporate leadership in their communities.
Hamilton, which celebrated its centennial year in 2012, specializes in designing and manufacturing fine jewelry, and sells premium designer jewelry and luxury timepieces.
