Anna Curreri, 13, of East Brunswick recently captured the New Jersey Elks Batter’s Up State Title for East Brunswick Lodge #2370.

Since Curreri is the lodge’s first statewide champion in a sports-related event, East Brunswick presented her with an engraved bat to denote her milestone achievement.

Curreri is an eighth-grader at Churchill Junior High School. She has been playing softball since she was five years old and currently plays travel ball for the Edison Angels.
