Write-in Anthony Roberts garners 121 votes
The three candidates on Tuesday’s ballot for Board of Education were easily elected, turning back a late write-in campaign.
Kelly Harabin won a second three-year term while Sharon Lukac and Arthur Thomas Cornelson captured their first. The vote totals were 996, 854 and 784, respectively.
Anthony Roberts, an Army veteran of 21 years who threw in his hat late in the race, got 121 write-in votes.
School board candidates appeared at the bottom of the ballot, separate from the state, county and local partisan races.
This was the second year Manville choose school board members in November, after the state allowed a switch from an April vote in 2012.
The turnout for the election was slightly more than 40 percent, according to numbers from the polls.
In other contests, Republican Gov. Chris Christie ran up a 3-1 margin of victory in the borough, outpolling state Sen. Barbara Buono, 1,653-521. Democratic Mayor Angelo Corradino endorsed the GOP governor earlier this year.
