Police estimate value of diamonds at 100K

ROBBINSVILLE — Police are still seeking suspects involved in a jewelry heist at Tindall Jewelers in the Foxmoor Shopping Center on Washington Boulevard last Wednesday.
”Upon arrival we discovered it was actually a theft,” said Lt. Michael Polaski of the Robbinsville Township Police Department in an email on Oct. 31.
Contrary to previous reports, the incident was not a robbery, as no weapons or force were used, and no threats were made, according to a department blotter release.
The incident occurred at 5:50 p.m. when there were four subjects in the store, according to police.
”There were at least two males and one female in the store,” Lt. Polaski said, adding that the suspects were “possibly Hispanic.” There may have been an additional female outside the store serving as a driver.
”They distracted the owner and one of them grabbed loose diamonds from behind the counter,” Lt. Polaski added. The blotter release reported two of the suspects apparently had posed as a couple looking for engagement rings.
Police estimated the value of the stolen diamonds to be approximately $100,000.
The release said the owner chased the suspects on foot as they let the store and was able to take a cell phone photo of the vehicle, which was described as being possibly a black audi A3 older model with Pennsylvania plates.
There are no suspects. Detectives are reviewing video and pictures of the incident, Lt. Polaski said.
Anyone with any information is being asked to contact the Robbinsville Township Police Department at 609-259-3900.
