Princeton is on “very solid financial footing” having received AAA bond ratings by Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s, Mayor Liz Lempert said Tuesday.
The mayor, addressing reporters at a press conference, said rating agencies like to look at the history of a given town and its prospects for the future. She said Princeton presented “an unusual case” when looking to the past, given Princeton has been one town for little more than 10 months.
Princeton is in select company. Seventeen of the 565 towns in New Jersey have AAA rating, officials said Tuesday.
