Four-part class will discuss issues of today

“Contemporary Issues,” a four-session class with Professor Anthony Troncone, will be held 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 15 and 22, and Dec. 6 and 13 at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison.

The class will focus on the primary issues of today. The fee is $40, or $32 for Community Campus members.

Church sets Nov. 16 Holiday Boutique

The Oak Tree Presbyterian Church, 445 Plainfield Road, Edison, will host its Holiday Boutique and bake sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 16. Local artisans and vendors will be on hand to sell unique gifts, jewelry, gourmet food, home and holiday décor, candles and more. Elks slate free-throw event for Nov. 16

Boys and girls ages 8-13 are invited to participate in the Edison Elks’ annual hoop shoot contest at 9 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Stelton Community Center, 328 Plainfield Ave., Edison.

Winners of the contest will go on to the district hoop shoot in January, which will be held in conjunction with the Edison Recreation Fowl Shoot. Those attending are asked to bring a donation of canned or nonperishable foods. For details, call 732-236-1491.

Hebrew speakers’ club meetings announced

The next meeting of the Chug Ivrit club for intermediate-advanced Hebrew speakers will take place at 11 a.m. Nov. 17.

Chug Ivrit is sponsored by the Raritan Valley Chapter of Hadassah. Members chat in Hebrew and read a short story or article. For meeting locations and more information, call Rachel Weintraub at 732-819- 9298 or email [email protected].
