WASHINGTON CROSSING, Pennsylvania — The Friends of Washington Crossing Park will host “A Night of REBELry” on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the park’s new Visitor’s Center.
This fundraiser will feature butlered hors d’oeuvres, food stations, a top-shelf open bar, a live band, dancing, a historic reenactor encampment, musket salutes and more.
The cost is $100 per person or $175 per couple. Proceeds benefit educational and historical programming in the park.
Those who attend the fundraiser also receive free access to a tented, VIP viewing area during the Christmas Day crossing reenactment, complete with hot beverages and snacks.
Reserve tickets to the fundraiser by sending a check made out to the Friends of Washington Crossing Park, P.O. Box 1776, Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. 18977. Include the names of those who will attend.
”A Night of REBELry” kicks off a busy December in Washington Crossing Historic Park. Sunday, Dec. 8, the park will hold a full dress rehearsal of the crossing reenactment from noon to 3 p.m.; the actual crossing will be approximately 1 p.m. The cost to attend the dress rehearsal is $8 for adults, $4 for children age 5 to 11 and free for those under 5. Proceeds support future programs.
”During the dress rehearsal, the troops row across the river in uniform just as they do on Christmas Day, plus additional activities and demonstrations take place throughout the historic village,” said John Godzieba, president of the Friends of Washington Crossing Park and General Washington interpreter. “It’s a great family event.”
Dec. 25 at 1 p.m., thousands will gather to watch the annual Christmas Day reenactment of George Washington’s daring 1776 river crossing. The Christmas Day reenactment is free. The 1776 crossing of the Delaware River is considered a turning point in the American Revolution.
Washington Crossing Historic Park is at the intersection of routes 32 and 532. Individuals with disabilities who need special assistance or accommodations to participate in this event should call 215-493-4076.
