On Friday December 13, 2013, the March of Dimes will honor Elizabeth A. Ryan, Esq., Chief Executive Officer and President of the New Jersey Hospital Association, Inc. [NJHA], at its Celebration of New Beginnings breakfast by presenting her with the “FDR Visionary Award” for outstanding leadership and support of the mission of the March of Dimes – to prevent premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality. The event will be held at the Pines Manor in Edison, New Jersey beginning at 8:00 am.
The Celebration of New Beginnings event was founded by March of Dimes and Pfizer 13 years ago to increase public awareness of the progress, promise of cutting-edge research, and public health programs in the areas of maternal and infant health in New Jersey.
Elizabeth A. Ryan has been Chief Executive Officer and President of New Jersey Hospital Association, Inc. since June 2008 and also serves as its Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Ryan, an attorney, oversees NJHA’s daily operations and its advocacy efforts in Trenton and Washington, D.C. She serves in multiple roles including oversight of NJHA’s legal and legislative activities, communications, clinical affairs and human resources departments. She also supports NJHA’s Policy Development Committee.
“As we celebrate the March of Dimes’ 75th anniversary this year, we are honored to be able to present Elizabeth Ryan with the FDR Visionary Award for her commitment to our mission to work together for strong, healthier babies,” said Addy Bonet, State Director, March of Dimes, New Jersey Chapter.
