MANVILLE: Two local men charged with thefts in car spree in Monmouth County

Officer checked out ‘suspicious car’ here

Police said they recovered proceeds from burglaries in Marlboro and Old Bridge Township after Manville Patrolman Joseph Buda responded to a citizen’s call and checked a suspicious vehicle near Frank’s Pizza in the Marketplace parking lot off North Main Street at 7:36 a.m. Nov. 17.
Marlboro police came to assist, and they took the suspects back to their municipality. Taken into custody were Christian Solis and Eric Adamowicz, both 19 and from Manville, and Justin Borealo, 26, of Hillsborough. A juvenile suspect was released to his parents.
The three men were charged with six counts of burglary, five counts of theft and one count of conspiracy from vehicle break-ins in residential areas between 2 and 6 a.m., according to Marlboro Detective Sgt. Christie McKenna.
Wallets, electronics, money and miscellaneous items were taken from the cars, she said. Credit cards were taken and used at convenience and food stores, as well as tickets at a train station.
They were initially given a bail of $50,000, with no 10-percent cash option, the sergeant said, but it was later reduced. Mr. Borealo and Mr. Adamowicz made bail, she said, but, as of Tuesday morning, Mr. Solis was lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Center, she said.
More charges might be forthcoming, the sergeant said.
   The vehicle was impounded.
