AREA: Erica Condon named Jointure’s director

   Erica Condon has been hired as executive director of The Jointure educational, non-profit organization group serving residents in several communities in Somerset County.
   The Jointure involves more than 500 children in before and after-school programs in three school districts, a pre-school/kindergarten program, a summer enrichment program, an adult education program and classes for ESL, GED and ABE. She will be responsible for the supervision of about 80 full- and part-time support staff.
   The Jointure operates a before- and after-school program at the Woods Road School in Hillsborough.
   Ms. Condon, who was selected from more than 90 applicants, was the former assistant director of the child achievement branch for the Community YMCA of Northern Monmouth County. She has also been a kindergarten teacher.
   ”Her knowledge and insight of non-profit organizations will enable her to provide the leadership necessary to work with other professionals and with leaders in the communities served by the Jointure,” read a statement from the group.
   Ms. Condon was said to have excellent communication skills and enjoys working with children and their parents. Ms. Condon is a graduate of East Stroudsburg (Pa.) University, where she earned a B.A. degree in early childhood and elementary education.
   The Jointure is an educational, non-profit organization with offices on Route 202 in Raritan. Eight members from a variety of backgrounds and experiences serve on the Board of Trustees, which meets monthly.
   In 2014 The Jointure will celebrate 100 years as a community organization serving residents of Somerset County.
