CHAPTER A
The “Hickory Tree Chorus”, an offshoot of the Sweet Adelines, will entertain us at our Dec. 5 meeting. Please bring your items for the Food Bank. It’s especially important at this time of year.
Voting for officers to serve in 2014 will be at the December meeting. Induction of officers will be at the January meeting.

If you’re wearing your nametag to meetings, you’re receiving two tickets for the raffle at the end of the meeting. Cash prizes are $25, $20, $15 and $10.
Our meetings start at 12:30 p.m. and all Hillsborough seniors age 60 and older are invited. Dues are $5 a year and new members may join at any meeting. Our membership chairman is Loretta Tansey (908-359-1171).
Doors open at 11:30 a.m., allowing time to review upcoming events and make reservations. Refreshments are served after the meeting.
Members may at any time contribute kitchen supplies — coffee, decaf, napkins, plastic sandwich bags, etc.
Our president is Lou Possemato, 908-369-4474. Executive Board meetings are the fourth Wednesday of every month unless otherwise noted. Remember, the suggestion box is available to you.
Please feel free to post any appropriate items on the Chapter A bulletin board — dinners, rummage sales, tricky trays, etc.

Thurs., Nov. 21 — Hillsborough Senior Bingo, hosted by Chapter B, at 11:30 a.m. at the Municipal Building with hot dog lunch. Cost is $3 for one card and $5 for two cards. Ticket is required.
Thurs., Dec. 12 — “Christmas in the Poconos” in Milford, Pa. Departs from Weis Markets parking lot. Cost is $78.
Sun., Dec. 15 — Holiday party at the Falcon Club from noon to 4 p.m. Good food, music and prizes. Members $25, refunded at event; guests $35, no refund.
Tues., Jan.7 — Meeting with travel agency for overview of October 2014 New England/Canada cruise.
Tues., Feb.18 — “Beer & Broken Hearts,” a Branson show at the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, near Clinton. Departs from Weis parking lot at 10:15 a.m.. Cost is $52.
Tues., March 11 — “St. Patrick’s Day Celebration” at Hunts Landing, Pa. Departs from Weis parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $79.
Our next trip to the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City is on Monday, Dec. 2. The Taj Mahal is next to Showboat and within walking distance of the Revel Casino. Open to members and non-members (over 21) for $30, with $25 returned. Departs at 9 a.m. from Kohl’s parking lot, and returns about 7:30 p.m. Call Jo at 908-359-6418 for reservations. Pay on bus.

CHAPTER B
Our next meeting will be Dec. 12. Doors will open at 11 a.m., at which time you can sign up for trips listed below. The meeting starts at 12:30 p.m.
Members wearing their name badges will be eligible for a drawing at the end of the meetings for a special gift. Be sure to wear your badge!

Bingo is scheduled for today, Thursday, Nov. 21. Doors open at 11:30. Good food, great prizes, fun and surprises.
The holiday luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5, at Mary, Mother of God Church. Tickets must have been purchased at the November meeting.
Dues for 2014 will be $10 and will start to be collected at the November and December meetings. They must be paid by Dec. 31 or you will lose your membership.
The Dec. 3 trip to the Christmas show at Hunterdon Hills Playhouse has been sold out, but there is a waiting list, if you wish to sign up.
Likewise, the pre-New Year’s Eve party to the Brownstone in northern New Jersey on Tuesday, Dec. 31, is sold out, with a waiting list. The cost of $72 includes transportation, lunch with wine, show and dancing.
Tickets will go on sale in January and February for a March 27 trip to the Philadelphia Mummers Museum. The cost of $68 includes transportation, lunch buffet, string band concert and guided tour of the Murals of Philadelphia.
The April 30 trip to Radio City Music Hall in New York City has sold out. The cost of $110 includes transportation, the new show and three-course lunch at L’Allegria Restaurant.
Reservations are being taken for a trip to Martha’s Vineyard from May 19-22 at a price of $568.
There will be two payments of $284 each. This includes transportation, three breakfasts and dinners, tour from Hyannis to Provincetown, guided escorts to Martha’s Vineyard via ferry and Newport, R.I.
If you want to bring a friend on any overnight trip, they do not have to be a club member.
If you do not want to drive to or from the municipal building for any trip, there is a new van service provided by the township which will pick you up at your home and bring up back afterwards for a $5 fee.

Dec. 3 — Library program on living in the Edwardian era, 6:30 p.m. Those who like Downton Abbey will enjoy this.

Somerset Medical Center’s Urgent Care Center is open on Route 206 across from Kinder Care, seven days a week from 8 to 8 weekdays and 9-4 on weekends.
There’s a car service to drive you in your car to or from an event or appointment (for a fee). Responsible, reliable, background-checked drivers. Call ahead or at the last minute at 908-547-0089.
A Hillsborough resident specializing in non-medical senior assistance, “We Care Senior Care,” provides (for a fee) errands, cooking, hair care by professional hairdresser, light house-keeping, laundry. Call for cost and other information 908—RD359- 2192 or 908-963-0821.
Keep in mind the township’s Mr. Fix-It program, run by the Social Services Department. Minor home repairs can be arranged on Wednesdays between 8-11 a.m. for Hillsborough seniors 60 and older. Call 908-369-3880 for details.
Free exercise programs are available for all Hillsborough seniors and are designed for all levels of fitness.
In the municipal building’s all-purpose room (where clubs A and B meet), there are sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11 a.m., and 12:30 and 1:45 p.m. Stretching and low-impact dancing are included. Free transportation is available. Call 908-369-3880 for details.
Another senior exercise program, “Flex, Stretch, and Tone with Rose,” is held at the Hillsborough Senior Wellness Center, 339 South Branch Road (near the YMCA) on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. Call 908-369-8700 for details.
