Police blotters
New Hope police reported several reports of copper downspouts being taken off homes on New and West Mechanic streets from Oct. 28 to Nov. 1.
On Oct. 28, a New Street resident reported to police at 6:36 a.m. that, at some time during the overnight hours, someone had removed a copper downspout, valued at $600, from the front of his residence.
That afternoon at 2:32, another New Street resident reported to police that, at some time during the prior 24 hours, someone had removed a copper downspout, valued at $200, from her residence.
On Oct. 29 at 12:30 p.m. a West Mechanic Street resident reported that someone had removed a copper downspout, valued at $300, from the side of his residence. No time frame was provided for the theft.
A half-hour later, at 1 p.m. a second resident of the street reported that, at some time during the prior 24 hours, someone had removed copper railings from steps to the rear of his residence. The railings are described as being about 40 feet in length, and are valued at $250.
At 4:30 p.m. Nov. 1 the manager of a West Mechanic Street building reported to police that, at some time during the prior four days, someone had removed three sections of copper down spout, valued at $1,200 from the side of the building.

At 12:44 a.m. Oct 17, police arrested and charged Francisco Alfonso, 37, of New Hope, for driving under the influence of alcohol, after he was allegedly seen operating his vehicle in an unlawful manner on South Main Street.
At 8:30 a.m. Oct. 17 a North Main Street resident reported to police that he had become aware that someone had removed several checks from within his residence, and had cashed them for a total of $6,500. Police said they have a suspect, and are continuing their investigation.
At 2:09 p.m. Oct. 17 a New Hope resident reported to police that, earlier that day, someone had “keyed” his vehicle, while the vehicle had been parked in a West Bridge Street lot.
At 2:05 a.m. Nov. 6 police cited Angie Messick, 29, of New Hope, for public drunkenness after she allegedly created a disturbance on South Main Street.
Charges are pending against three juvenile suspects who may have thrown rocks from the hillside behind Village 2 on Nov. 6. At 4:16 p.m. a Warren, N.J., resident reported to police that, while he had been driving on West Mechanic Street, his vehicle had been damaged by thrown rocks thrown.
Lambertville
On Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 11:40 a.m., Patrolman Michael Gramlich stopped Carlos Alberto Salguero-Esteban, 27, of Trenton on Route 518 after a random motor vehicle lookup revealed Mr. Esteban’s vehicle registration had expired in October.
Mr. Esteban was subsequently charged with being an unlicensed driver, and driving while his driver’s license was suspended. A motor vehicle warrant was also found out of Trenton Municipal Court for $2,500. Mr. Esteban posted the full bail amount and was released.
On Thursday Nov. 7, at 2:33 a.m. Robert W. Malka, 25, of Trenton was stopped on Route 165 by Detective Michael Miloszar. Mr. Malka was found to have warrants for his arrest from Bedminster and South Hackensack municipal courts.Robert Malka was released by both agencies without bail. A passenger Kristen Malka, 21, also of Trenton, was found to have an active warrant out of Woodbury Municipal Court for $239. Kristen Malka posted bail and was released. Police remind that all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
