LAMBERTVILLE: Author talks in library program on Saturday

She’ll talk of how she followed history of family through their letters

On Nov. 30 at 2 p.m., meet the author of “Write If You Live To Get There: Tracing Westward Expansion Through 120 Years of Family Letters,” by Mary K. Sonntag and Mary Jo Sonntag.
The book speaks of the spirited family who chronicled more than a century of living in the letters they wrote to each other, from Pennsylvania and Vermont, to California and places in between. Mere memory might paint our pasts in glittering gold, but the reality that the Sonntags uncovered in this treasure trove of family letters and photographs, reveals something even more precious. Here is a clear, personal and intimate glimpse into life in America in the 19th and early 20th centuries. This program is free and open to the public.
On Dec. 6 from 7:30-8:30 p.m., the library’s “Friday in the Gallery” performance series will open with “Holiday Music and More with the Classical Guitar.” Enjoy the sounds of the classical guitar as Thomas Amoriello performs arrangements of carols from many countries as well as other works for the instrument. Guitar enthusiasts and lovers of holiday carols will enjoy the sonorities of the Spanish guitar.
On Dec. 13 from 7:30-8:30 p.m., “Friday in the Gallery” will feature Patsy Monteleone. He plays his own arrangements of songs from great 20th century writers such as Hoagy Carmichael, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, and Duke Ellington.
Bouncy Booktime & Creative Movement children’s story hour is held every Tuesday morning at 10 and again at 11 at the Lambertville Free Public Library.
Cuentos y Canciones is moving to a new time: every Monday from 11-11:45 a.m. This early education program is entirely in Spanish for children under the age of 5. Parental supervision is required.
During the hour program, children will listen to stories, sing children’s songs, and participate in an art project, all in Spanish. This weekly program at the Lambertville library is an opportunity for young children and their parents to socialize and experience the Spanish language through stories and songs.
