RED BANK — Each holiday season, Lunch Break becomes Santa’s workshop to provide gifts for hundreds of the neediest children in both Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Through the Adopt-A-Family program, new and age-appropriate gifts are distributed to children from newborns to 15-yearolds. This is made possible by the generosity of Lunch Break’s good friends and neighbors who, in 2012, brought smiles to the faces of over 1,200 children. The hope this year is that the wishes of even more children can be fulfilled.
To make this happen, members of the community can visit Lunch Break at 121 Drs. James Parker Blvd. in Red Bank to select a family to adopt. Once shopping is completed, bring the bagged and unwrapped gifts — labeled by family name — to the Lunch Break warehouse at 968 Shrewsbury Ave., Unit 7, in Tinton Falls.
Drop-off times are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday – Friday, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The deadline for delivering unwrapped gifts to the warehouse is Dec. 2.
For those not able to adopt a family, Lunch Break welcomes gifts and/or gift cards. These will be distributed to children, as well.
On Dec. 14, parents and guardians will gather at Tower Hill church in Red Bank, and Lunch Break “elves” will distribute the gifts donated to make happy memories for the children of Lunch Break.
