Gallery tells story of ‘How the Grinch Stole Atlantic Highlands’

What happens when the Grinch, Max and Cindy Lou Who visit the Bayshore? The Second Story Art Gallery is setting the stage to find out.

An exhibit will feature photographs submitted by members of the public wearing paper masks of the characters from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by Dr. Seuss in and around Atlantic Highlands.

An opening reception will be held 6-9 p.m. Dec. 7.

The reception will also be an awards ceremony for the first collaborative art exhibition for the Second Story Art Gallery, which is providing the paper masks to the public for this festive art exhibition.

In addition, A.J. Dillon Gallery of Atlantic Highlands will host a Grinch-themed show opening on Dec. 7. “How the Grinch Stole Atlantic Highlands” will run through Dec. 28, with local businesses near the gallery participating by decorating in “Grinch style.”

Those interested in participating can visit the Second Story Art Gallery — located at 78 First Ave. in Atlantic Highlands — to pick up a mask. They are also available at the gallery or online at secondstoryart.com. Participants should email their photo — one per person — to [email protected]. Images may be “selfies” or staged as a group photo.
