by Mayor Kelly A. Yaede
Recently, I had the honor to receive an overwhelming vote of confidence by the residents of Hamilton Township. To serve in public office is indeed an honor. Furthermore, it is important that public officials not lose sight that it is also a privilege.
And while it would be impossible for me to thank everyone with a limited amount of words, I must thank my family, my dedicated administration, the hardworking employees of the Hamilton Township Municipal Government, the many devoted and enthusiastic volunteers who gave of their time to support my candidacy and the citizens of Hamilton Township.
Most importantly, I wish to thank the residents of Hamilton Township for their vote of confidence. I remain committed to all Hamiltonians and the continued goal of moving our township forward in the right direction for the benefit of our entire community.
Whether it is through keeping our hometown affordable, our local economy vibrant, our neighborhoods safe, our parks beautiful or our community flourishing, there will always be challenges that lay ahead. However, I am eager to continue to pursue these laudable goals and work cooperatively with the members of the Hamilton Township Council for a better and brighter future for the hometown that I love.
Something bright on our hometown’s horizon as we approach the holiday season is our annual Winter Wonderland, which will be held Thursday, Dec. 5 through Saturday, Dec. 7 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. each evening at Kuser Farm Park. On Thursday night, at 7 p.m., we will officially light the Kuser Mansion Christmas Tree.
Our annual tradition of Winter Wonderland, which is specially tailored for our children, will allow our youngest visitors to take a ride on the Holiday Express Train, stroll through Santa’s Village, take a free photograph with Santa Claus, see Santa’s Helpers, visit the always popular Jersey Valley Model Railroad Club display and even enjoy a Petting Zoo.
Adults can enjoy musical entertainment, tour the beautifully decorateD Kuser Mansion, or shop for a holiday wreath at the Wreath Market or window shop at a new addition, Mrs. Claus’ Boutique.
Admission to Winter Wonderland is free; however, in the spirit of the season of giving, we encourage attendees to bring either an unwrapped toy for our “Toys for Tots” collection drive, or a non-perishable food item for our “Holiday Food Drive” to help make the holidays a little brighter for our neighbors who may be currently experiencing financial hardships.
I hope to see many of our residents at this year’s Winter Wonderland. And for those I will not be able to personally greet at our annual celebration, whether you will be celebrating Hanukkah later this month, Kwanzaa the next, or Christmas in December, let me wish all of our citizens a very happy, safe and enjoyable holiday season with their family, friends and loved ones, as well as a healthy and prosperous New Year. And by continuing to work together, I am confident that the New Year will bring continued growth and prosperity for our entire community.
Thank you again, for the honor of continuing to serve as your mayor.
