December 09, 2013, MERCER COUNTY, NJ – Area animal rescue organizations are celebrating the holidays with a festive way to find homes for the animals in their care. On Saturday, December 14, 2013, seven local animal rescue groups are teaming up for Pup-Up, a one-day super adoption event.
Organizations participating in the daylong event include Lulu’s Rescue, S.A.V.E. of Princeton, L.A.W., C.C.A.S., Kitty Junction, New Jersey Aid for the Animals, and Brookhaven. Armstrong anticipates there will be anywhere from 50 to 100 dogs and cats at the event. Each rescue will have a designated area for visitors to meet and greet animals available for adoption from their organization. There will be an adoption counseling area where rescue volunteers will help match potential adopters with their ideal pet and an adoption processing section where the adoption will be completed.
Pup-Up will also feature a “Happy Beginnings” booth where each adopted pet will be photographed with his/her new family before they all leave to start their new life together. Each completed adoption will be celebrated and refreshments offered throughout the day.
Pup-Up will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 33 Witherspoon Street in Princeton (entrance for location is on 1 Spring Street). Gateway Funding’s Principal Branch Manager Kevin Kenyon graciously donated the space for use during the event.
“We want to educate the public about the importance of choosing pet adoption and show them how they can save a life by providing a forever home for a homeless animal this holiday season,” Armstrong said. “It is a true gift of love.”
