Police captured a local man wanted for not appearing in court on burglary charges last Thursday.
Police arrested Jonathan Jacobs, 19, of Kendall Park in the Wynwood Drive development off Route 1 at around 2 p.m., according to officials.
Mr. Jacobs was wanted by Middlesex County law enforcement for failing to appear in court on a number of burglary charges, including an arrest in the township in September, police said.
Sgt. Dan Olsson and Patrolman Brian Snyder located Mr. Jacobs in a Deerberry Lane residence and were able to subdue him after a brief struggle, police said.
According to police, officers developed information that Mr. Jacobs was staying in that development after changing his location several times.
He was indicted on burglary charges in the township during a September incident, police said.
Mr. Jacobs was one of three men, including a juvenile, allegedly used a vacationing family’s home on Holly Court to do drugs at the time, according to police.
Police checking on the family’s home reportedly discovered a 17-year-old township male sleeping on the living room couch, and two adult township men sleeping in the upstairs bedroom, according to police.
The alleged interlopers told Sgt. Gary Holsten and Patrolman Nathan Labuda at the time that they knew the family and were allowed in the residence.
The officers discovered 26 folds of heroin on the men as well as three credit cards belonging to the homeowner, according to police.
Police said the family was not aware of the men and they were not allowed in the home.
Mr. Jacobs was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and theft of credit cards.
The other adult, Nikko Cicerale, 20, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and released on $1,000 bail.
The juvenile in the case was turned over to his parents, police said.
Mr. Jacobs is now lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick on $50,000 bail, police said.
