MANVILLE: Kid wrestlers open their season

   Manville’s recreation team of 2nd to 6th graders traveled to Watchung on Friday night for its first wrestling match of the season.
    Lukas Rios started off the match at 50 pounds with a hard-fought 6-2 victory, controlling the action from start to finish.
    At 63 pounds Tim Whitenight went right in for the takedown and had a good pin combination as the first period ended. In the 2nd he put in a tight half-nelson and got the pin.
    At 77, Nick Colombaroni wrestled well to a 4-3 win in a close match from start to finish. Alan Rainz dominated from the start to take a 9-3 win at 85 pounds. Nick Ayala wrestled well and pinned his opponent.
     In other matches, Lukas Rios wrestled to a 5-4 win. Rich Frietag pinned his man for a win. Alan Rainz wrestled two more opponents and won both matches by 8-2 and 7-2 margins. Nick Colombaroni pinned in his second match of the day. 
    Manville is home this Saturday. 
