BORDENTOWN CITY — Residents could be seen taking a scenic tour of the city in horse-drawn carriages sponsored by Downtown Bordentown Association during the winter wonderland this past weekend, carrying on the decade long tradition.
”Bordentown is a charming city and carriage rides are a nice way to enjoy the beautiful decorations and feel the spirit of the Holidays,” said April Sette, on behalf of Downtown Bordentown Association.
The air was filled with holiday festivities including music, hot chocolate, kettle corn, chestnuts roasting and more.
”We had chestnuts roasting so you can smell the atmosphere of winter,” Ms. Sette said.
Over 110 people attended the two-day event, officials said.
”It snowed and everyone still kept their reservation,” Ms. Sette said.
Bucks County Carriage Rides picked up riders at the corner of Farnsworth Avenue and Walnut Street and traveled up to Hilltop Park and then to Thompson Street onto Park Street and back onto Farnsworth Avenue.
The highlight for Ms. Sette was on Saturday seeing the snow and the “beautifully decorated homes and businesses.”
Downtown Bordentown Association will host another carriage on Feb. 7 before Valentine’s Day and will combine it with the Chocolate Walk.
