Sat., Dec. 21
   A Winter Solstice Celebration will be held from 7-9 p.m., at Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Church, 39 Park St., Bordentown. Everyone is welcome to enjoy festivities marking the end of the darkening days and the return of the sun’s light and warmth. We’ll observe the Old Ways with songs and laughter and light refreshments, and hang wishes for the new year on the Solstice Tree. Free.

   A Christmas Carol Sing-Along will be held at St. Mary Church, Bordentown City, at 1 p.m ending with refreshments. Call the parish office at 298-0261.
Mon., Dec. 23
   Temple B’nai Abraham of Bordentown City will sponsor an American Red Cross blood drive in a bloodmobile parked in front of Temple B’nai Abraham, 58 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. To make an appointment to give blood call 298-6485 or go to www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code 537.
Sat., Jan. 4
   A musical concert, featuring the Capital City Gospel Singers of Trenton will be held at 4 p.m. at Mt. Zion AME Church, 36 East Burlington Street, Bordentown. There is no cost for the concert, but a free will offering for the benefit of the deceased and anointed Jasper T. Daniels Jr.’s Scholarship Fund will be gratefully accepted.    Teen Advisory Board at 1:30 p.m. at the Bordentown Public Library, 18 E. Union St., Bordentown City. Teens ages 12 and up are welcome to attend the Teen Advisory Board meeting. Teens will be able to share their ideas on programming, and how to attract more kids their age to the library. The meetings will be counted toward volunteer hours.
   Teen Cupcake Wars at 2 p.m. at the Bordentown Public Library, 18 E. Union St., Bordentown City. Teens ages 12 and up are invited to compete in a cupcake decorating competition.
Wed., Jan. 29
   Book Bingo at 4:30 p.m. . at the Bordentown Public Library, 18 E. Union St., Bordentown City. Children ages 7 years and older are invited to play Bingo with a library twist.

   Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 has bingo every Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
   Doors open at 5 p.m. There is a progressive jackpot, and food is available for purchase.
   The lodge has sandwich night every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The price is $6 per person.
   Lodge 2085 hosts a breakfast the third Sunday of every month from 8 to 11 a.m. All proceeds benefit the Special Children’s Committee.
