The Edgewater Park Police Department took Mr. Dickerson into custody Dec. 10, according to a prosecutor’s office release.
The suspect was in Edgewater visiting his girlfriend when he was arrested.
The five heists Mr. Dickerson is accused of perpetrating ranged from Nov. 9 through Dec. 9 and included robberies at the Cornerstone Bank on High Street in Burlington City, the TD Bank on High Street in Mount Holly, the Roma Bank on Main Street in Maple Shade, the Roma Bank on Broad Street in Florence and PNC Bank on North Haddon Avenue in Haddonfield.
According to the release, Mr. Dickerson is accused of stealing nearly $10,000 combined from the five banks. An undisclosed amount of money was recovered following his arrest.
In each incident, Mr. Dickerson allegedly gave tellers a note, but never brandished a weapon.
During the Mount Holly and Florence robberies, however, he alledgely threatened the use of a firearm if the teller did not comply, according to the release.
In each instance, the accused wore a hooded jacket and jeans. During some of the robberies he wore sunglasses, a scarf or a mask to partially cover his face.
The ensuing investigation revealed he allegedly spent the money on items for himself and family members.
Bail for the four Burlington County robberies was set at $250,000, while a $100,000 bail was also set for the Haddonfield robbery in Camden County.
Mr. Dickerson had an initial court appearance in Superior Court before Judge Thomas P. Kelly on Dec. 11.
