Police are investigating whether three men who walked off with a dozen leather coats from the Lord & Taylor department store last week are part of an organized group committing similar thefts, according to police Detective Sgt. Joseph Amodio.
Three black males walked into the department store and went directly over to the coat department at about 4:35 p.m. Dec. 9 said Sgt. Amodio.
In less than two minutes, the men scooped up the coats, valued at a combined $8,250, and carried them out of the store.
The men got into a red Chrysler 300 sedan and left the scene.
Police are looking into matching them with suspects who have been involved with other thefts in Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey, Sgt. Amodio said.
Thefts have been reported at Lord & Taylor stores in Bala Cynwd, Pa., and Moorestown, N.J.
