A collision involving a car and tractor trailer in front of Home Depot left one driver injured late Monday afternoon.

EAST WINDSOR — A collision involving a car and tractor trailer in front of Home Depot left one driver injured late Monday afternoon.
According to police, the accident occurred at 3:49 p.m. at the intersection of Route 33 (Mercer Street) and Hickory Corner Road.
Mario Arita, 62, of the Bronx, New York, was driving a red 2007 Freightliner tractor trailer eastbound on Route 33 when he struck John Bartzak, 42, of East Windsor, who was driving a black 1997 Acura with a juvenile male as his passenger in the car, according to police.
”The tractor trailer was being operated eastbound on Route 33 attempting to make a left turn onto Hickory Corner Road,” said Lt. Harry Marshall in a press release on Monday. “The car was operating westbound on Route 33 and impacted with tractor trailer within the intersection.”
The intersection was closed in the vicinity of the crash for approximately 45 minutes while the scene was cleared, police said.
Mr. Bartzak was transported to University Medical Center of Princeton for reported leg and head injury. Mr. Arita had no reported injuries. The juvenile passenger had minor injuries, Lt. Marshall said.
The East Windsor police department, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2, East Windsor Volunteer Rescue Squad No. 1, Hightstown Engine Co. No. 1 and Capital Health Systems EMS and paramedics responded to the scene to assist with the accident.
The East Windsor Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident, police said.
No charges have been filed at this time.
