PLUMSTED — At its final meeting of 2013 the Plumsted Township Board of Education received a clean financial bill of health.
At the Dec. 11 meeting Scott Frueh, of the firm of Holman Frenia Allison, P.C., presented a brief review of the district’s annual audit.
Specifically, the firm performed an unmodified assessment of district finances and found that officials had done a fine job using general accounting standards.
While only giving the attendees of the meeting and the school board a brief overview, as the board was given handouts prior to the meeting, the auditor noted that the board had a total fund balance of $4.73 million.
”I think that it is safe to say that things sound like they are going pretty well,” Board Vice President Garrett Midgett said.
Noting that the school board uses this audit in the hopes of obtaining government funding, Board President Harry Miller said that based on the numbers from this year the board has high hopes and is “optimistic that the support is able to continue.”
The board will hold its next meeting on Jan. 8 at New Egypt High School, located at 117 Evergreen Road in Plumsted.
