A New Brunswick man was arrested in a stolen vehicle in the Avenel section of Woodbridge after allegedly stealing a purse and a cell phone from a woman in Metuchen.
Kurt T. Dozier, 45, was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property after he and the stolen vehicle were found by a Woodbridge police officer off of Route 1 north at North Smith Street and Jansen Avenue in Avenel.
The suspect was found after police broadcast descriptions of the vehicle and suspect. The victim’s possessions were recovered, according to Woodbridge Police Capt. Roy Hoppock.
The 2011 Ford Explorer was stolen out of Clifton. Dozier was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, North Brunswick, with bail set at $45,000, with no 10 percent option.
The arrest was made at 9:05 a.m. on Jan. 10.
