Fitness center holds fundraiser on Sunday
BFit4U fitness studio is holding a Zumba fundraiser for two-month-old Hillsborough resident Juliana Stackhouse, daughter of Amanda Stackhouse, who is a studio member, on Sunday, Jan. 26.
Juliana was diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s disease, a condition affecting the large intestine. The usual treatment is the removal of sections of the colon. She was transferred to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where the surgery was performed. The procedure was successful but she has a long road ahead of her.
The transfer to the Children’s Hospital was not covered by insurance and has left the family with significant of out-of-pocket expenses.
Zumba fitness classes will be held at 10 and 11:15 a.m. at a cost of $20 apiece. All of the proceeds will go directly to the Stackhouse family.
Denise Tweedie is the owner of the studio, which is located in the shopping center adjacent to the former K-Mart on Route 206 southbound.
