PLUMSTED — James Warthen, 22, a suspect from an armed robbery on Nov. 24, in the township was apprehended in Pemberton by the U.S. Marshall Service, according to Plumsted police.
James Warthen was transported to the Burlington County jail where he is currently being held on bail and other related charges.
Township detectives previously issued warrants for two suspects believed to be involved in the armed robbery of an 18-year-old man in the Oakford Lake section in November.
Shortly after police issued the warrants, officers were able to arrest one of the suspects, a minor from Pemberton.
According to Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the juvenile suspect was arrested at a Wawa on Jacobstown Road in Plumsted.
In a previous release, police said two black males wearing hooded sweatshirts approached the victim who was leaving the SuperMich Mexican Supermarket on Main Street at 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 24. One of the accused brandished a handgun, police said.
The victim told police they were ordered to the ground, and the two men stole money and a Sprint iPhone.
