The Rutgers Theater Co. will present Witold Gombrowicz’s “Ivona, Princess of Burgundia” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18-22 and 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Jameson Studio Theater, 30 Jones Ave., on the Douglass Campus of Rutgers University, New Brunswick.
Princess Ivona is a silent and mysterious force that threatens to take down an entire kingdom. Young Prince Philip decides he must marry Ivona, if only to shake things up in his royal utopia. That’s when things get ugly, as the prince’s impulsive decision incites rage and disgust among the aristocracy.
Local cast and crew members include Lindsay Andreanszky of Monroe, Andy Do of Colts Neck, Joe Lalumia of Dayton, costume designer Rachel Pollard of Metuchen, lighting designer Vici Chirumbolo of West Long Branch and stage manager Katie Galaro of Holmdel.
Tickets are $15 for the general public, $12 for senior citizens and Rutgers alumni/employees, and $10 for students with valid ID.
