Screening of social action film on Feb. 16

The public is invited to a free film screening of “The Murder of Fred Hampton” at 6 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Unitarian meetinghouse, 1475 W. Front St., Lincroft.

The 1971 film is a portrait of civil rights leader Fred Hampton and the Illinois Black Panther Party.

Hampton was shot by members of the Chicago Police Department, and his death was viewed as a loss to the civil and human rights movements.
