Spring exhibits bloom at Monmouth U.

 “Ice Melting in a Plastic Cup” by Jeremiah Teipen “Ice Melting in a Plastic Cup” by Jeremiah Teipen Monmouth University’s Center for the Arts will host four exhibitions in the three on-campus galleries.

“EYE CONS,” featuring the work of illustrator Michael Anthony Donato, is on view at the first-floor DiMattio Gallery in the Joan and Robert Rechnitz Hall. Donato is a drawing and painting instructor at Monmouth University whose work has appeared in numerous books, magazines and videos. The paintings included in this exhibition have been inspired by pre-Renaissance and Renaissance iconography. The exhibition will run until March 7.

On the upper floor of the DiMattio Gallery, “Lewis Mumford: Selections from the Monmouth University Permanent Collection” will be featured. Mumford was a cultural historian, urbanologist, city planner, architectural critic, philosopher and prolific author. In addition, Mumford was a passionate artist, working in graphite, pastels and watercolors. This exhibit will run until March 7.

 “Super Kid” by Mike Harper “Super Kid” by Mike Harper “Inforifices,” an exhibition by Jeremiah Teipen, will be on view until April 21 in the Rotary Ice House Gallery. Teipen is an electronic- and new-media artist whose work has been exhibited in museums, institutions and galleries worldwide. The Pollak Gallery will feature “The Art of Illustration” by Mike Harper, an airbrush artist, through April 21. The works in this exhibition include advertising illustrations, book covers, editorial works and promotion pieces.
