EAST WINDSOR — An altercation between two township men ended up with a knife being drawn and one of the men slashed, according to police.
Police responded to the rear of the Twin Rivers Mall at 2:51 a.m. Feb. 16 on a report of a fight, police said.
Upon arrival, the officers encountered one of the male subjects bleeding from facial lacerations.
The male subject, identified as Omar Gonzalez, 32, of East Windsor, was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center via ambulance for his injuries, police said.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Mr. Gonzalez was involved in a physical alternation with another subject who was later identified as Luis Angel-Hipolito, 25, also of East Windsor.
The investigation indicated that during the altercation Mr. Hipolito used a small folding knife against Mr. Gonzalez resulting in the injuries to Mr. Gonzalez’s face, police said.
Mr. Angel-Hipolito was arrested for aggravated assault, and weapons offenses as a result of the investigation, police said.
During his arrest police said they recovered the knife believed to have been used in the incident.
Mr. Hipolito suffered a small laceration to his hand during the altercation and was transported to University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro for treatment.
He remains in custody in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.
