Gloves and trash bags will be supplied
To the editor:
I am an AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassador for your municipality tasked with watershed education and preservation along the Delaware River from Trenton to Frenchtown. I am planning a cleanup of the D&R canal on Saturday, March 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
I’m hoping to get multiple groups of volunteers who love the canal to come up to the Kingwood boat launch or Frenchtown at Bridge Street to help us clean several miles of trail and keep the canal looking beautiful.
I would love Lambertville to be a part of this cleanup. I lived in Lambertville for a short time and the enthusiasm and love people have for the canal is unparalleled.
I want this to be a fun day for people to get out and walk along the canal, interact with their neighbors and help the environment. Gloves and trash bags will be provided and I will arrange for their disposal. Girl Scout/Boy Scout groups, special community groups, biking and any other group who would be interested in helping are urged to participate!
Volunteers can RSVP and get up-to-date information by visiting www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4AAFAD2CA2F85-drcanal.
Thanks so much, and I hope this is a great community service event for all of us!
