Teacher Naturalist Training Program

By Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary
NJ Audubon’s Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary in Bernardsville is offering the opportunity to join our environmental education team.  As a teacher naturalist, you would teach environmental education programs in an outdoor setting to school groups and other children and adult groups.  You will have the chance to share your enthusiasm and knowledge of the natural world with others and have the reward of watching children learn about the natural world all around them.  With your help we will be able to engage many individuals in a variety of programs that support NJ Audubon’s mission and provide information related to ecology, environmental issues, and sustainability.
Our training program begins Tuesday, March 11 and meets at our center at 11 Hardscrabble Road every Tuesday morning, 9:30 to 12:30, until April 15.   Once you satisfactorily complete the program, you will join our staff as a teacher naturalist, a paid position. Teaching a pre-determined number of hours annually is a requirement.  Pre-registration is required by 3/7/14.  Please call our center at 908-766-5787 to register.
