Public invited to meet new library director
The Metuchen Public Library, 480 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen, will welcome its new library director, Susanna Chan, with a meet-and-greet event at 2 p.m. March 8. All are welcome.
Food and refreshments will be served. Included will be kids’ activities, including origami, balloon animals and face painting. Registration is not required.

Speaker to discuss the Borscht Belt
Marty Schneit, licensed tour guide and educator, will detail the history of the Borscht Belt, its surrounding sites, the entertainers who got their start in the Catskills and the reasons for the area’s decline at 10:30 a.m. March 11 at the Jewish Community Center, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison. Women’s council will host membership tea
The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) will hold a March 10 membership tea in the Edison area.
The organization is seeking members interested in volunteering their efforts to advocate for the welfare of women and children.
Women from Edison, Metuchen, North Brunswick, East Brunswick and Highland Park are invited to share in NCJW’s history of social action.
