Northern Burlington County Regional High School student Rachel Patterson was recently recognized as one of seven recipients of the Outstanding Women of Burlington County Award.
Northern Burlington County Regional High School student Rachel Patterson was recently recognized as one of seven recipients of the Outstanding Women of Burlington County Award.
Rachel, along with six other county recipients, will be recognized at an awards dinner March 27 at the Merion Caterers in Cinnaminson. The Burlington County Advisory Council on Women announced the awards.
According to a county release, Rachel, who won a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Award and Scholarship, has ranked first in her class over the four years she has attended the high school.
She plans on attending college to pursue an education career in genetic counseling.
Rachel is also a mentor for the Lifetime Information for Everyone (LIFE) Program (a part of the New Jersey Teen Prevention Education Program), according to the release.
She is also the captain of the high school’s marching band and is a drum major. She was also selected as a member with honors of the John Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth and completed a three week residential summer session in genetics, per the release.
Along with her scholastic achievements, Rachel also enjoys dancing and practices ballet. She has also received the Gold Award — the highest award offered in Girl Scouts.
