The Monmouth County Library will host AARP Tax Aide program volunteers to assist taxpayers with their income tax returns. The service is available for any low- and middleincome taxpayers with simple returns.
AARP volunteers will be at the Eastern Branch Library at 1001 Route 35, Shrewsbury, through April 15; the Wall Township branch at 2700 Allaire Road, Wall, through April 11; and the library’s headquarters at 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan, through April 14. Hours vary at each branch. Call for schedule or visit www.monmouthcountylib.org.
Preparations will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bring last year’s tax returns with you. All taxpayers must be present when their tax return is prepared. If filing a joint return, both taxpayers must be present. In an effort to prevent identity theft, tax preparers are required by the IRS to ask for your Social Security cards or comparable documentation for you, your spouse and all dependents if applicable.
Tax forms for 2013 are available at www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/forms.shtm l and www.irs.gov/uac/Forms,-Publications,- and-Other-Tax-Products.
