Matthew Pittore was sworn in as a state park police officer Feb. 25 in ceremonies at the Department of Environmental Protection in Trenton.
Deputy Attorney General Neil Magnus presided at the swearing in for 14 new officers. Assistant DEP Commissioner Richard Boornazian presented the officers with their badges.
Mr. Pittore graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy on Feb. 21. He received the James Tracey Leadership Award from the Ocean County Emerald Society and was recognized for a perfect score in qualifying firearms.
He is the son of Spring and Pat Pittore and the grandson of Bertha and former Lambertville Mayor Phillip Pittore. Mr. Pittore will be assigned to patrol duties in the northern section of the state.
