BORDENTOWN CITY: Animal rescue group hosts annual flea market fundraiser

The flea market will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Carslake Community Center, located at 207 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown City, on April 5.

BORDENTOWN — The Bordentown City Cats animal rescue group has announced its 11th annual indoor flea market fundraiser will take place on Saturday, April 5.
The flea market will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Carslake Community Center, located at 207 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown City, with all proceeds from the community event benefiting the group’s continuing efforts to rescue and care for the city’s stray and feral cat population.
”Events like this are what have enabled us to continue our rescue mission for more than 10 years now,” said Mak Kieffer, founder of both the group and the event. “Over the years, this event has built up quite a following and we typically see several hundred people pass through our doors throughout the day.
”This is a great way for budding entrepreneurs to get exposure for their new goods or for people to do some spring cleaning and unload their gently used goods,” Ms. Kieffer added. “Either way, it all goes to benefit a great cause.”
The event will feature more than 40 tables with a wide range of great new and used finds, artisan jewelry, baked goods, plants and flowers.
Residents and business owners can get involved with the event by either renting a space to sell their own goods or by donating old items or baked goods that can be sold to benefit the group.
The cost to rent space is $20. Anyone interested must contact the group and pay in advance. The community center will be open the night before the market from 4 to 7 p.m. for advance setup.
Anyone interested in renting a space, donating to the event or adopting a cat, should contact the group at [email protected] or at 609-324-3896.
