The Noor-Ul-Iman (NUI) Middle School Boys Soccer Team from South Brunswick, won a Championship soccer game with a score of 4-3, beating the undefeated U12 Greater Flemington Soccer Club Travel Team Feb. 28.
The final victory came during the U11/12 Boys top bracketed 7 vs. 7 League at Soccer Centers in Somerset.
The team is coached by Mr. Ahmed Shehata, a South Brunswick resident, who’s son plays on the NUI team.
Coach Shehata said he was very happy and proud of the team after the win.
”I couldn’t have asked for a stronger, dedicated, more committed group of boys,” he said. “This was a very intense game, seeing that we played against a very tough team with very competitive players who were undefeated in this league. Although we were down 1-0 for the first ten minutes of the first half, the boys were able to come back with a stronger performance and ultimately defeat the opposing team with a score of 4-3.”
He congratulated the team and the parents for bringing home the victory.
”I just want to say that all the boys out there today were great, I am very proud of each and every one of them,” he said. “The team’s efforts were tremendous and have not gone unnoticed. I have no doubt in my mind that every player that received a league winner jersey today most definitely earned it.”
