BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP — Men Fishing For Women, the 20th annual spring pickerel tournament, will be held Saturday March 29 and Sunday March 30, to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
The tournament, sponsored by the Sportsmen Center and Hi-Tech Carpet & Furniture Cleaning, has a $20 entry fee and is being held rain or shine. Participants must enter by Friday, March 28.
The entry fee in the past has typically been $10, but given the significance of the year, organizers are hoping to raise more funds to fight breast cancer.
Based on a hundred participants, there were 103 last year, the first place prize is $700. The second place finisher will receive $400, while third and fourth place contestants will earn $150 and $100 gift certificates, respectively.
Fish will be checked in at the Sportsmen Center, Route 130 North, Bordentown. Check-in times are 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday. Minimum length for a fish to be measured is 22 inches. A fish’s weight be used as a tiebreaker.
All proceeds after prizes and tournament expenses will benefit the ACS.

Mr. Horner, whose wife is a cancer survivor, said the tournament has benefited the Cancer Society for the past five years.
