Piloxing with Marina Fitness, a new interdisciplinary workout studio, recently celebrated its grand opening at 335 Route 9 south, Manalapan. Nicole E. French of Manalapan has been named regional director of Acelleron Medical Products, the durable medical equipment division of Preferred Home Health Care and Nursing Services, with headquarters in Eatontown. As regional director, French is responsible for the establishment and growth of the maternal health platform in New Jersey and Pennsylvania markets. French will create strategic partnerships with hospitals, OBGYN centers, pediatrician offices and mothers’ groups in an effort to educate and promote the new maternal benefits in the federal Affordable Care Act. She will also explain how Acelleron can provide services such as free breast pumps to these organizations and their communities.
The Provident Bank and its wealth management subsidiary, Beacon Trust Co., recently participated in National Go Red for Women Day. Employees were encouraged to wear jeans and something red for the day, and to donate $5 to support the cause. Registered nurses from Raritan Bay Medical Center were on-site at three bank locations to provide blood pressure screenings, demonstrate Hands-Only CPR and to distribute heart-healthy information. The Provident Bank Foundation also donated $2,200 to the program, resulting in a combined total donation of more than $5,000.

Monmouth County will again offer employers and jobseekers the opportunity to connect at the Monmouth County Spring Job Fair scheduled for April 4 at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft. Barry S. Asch has been named assistant vice president of cancer care services at CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township. As part of the ongoing commitment to cancer services at CentraState Medical Center, Asch is responsible for overseeing the coordinated cancer care service line that better meets the needs of patients, their family members and referring physicians. Additionally, he serves as the liaison for cancer services for staff, physicians and community members to direct questions and concerns. Asch was previously the administrative director of Radiation Oncology at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Fla.
Jayne Craig, Ph.D., R.N., from CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, received the 2013 March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award in the research category.
Through Nurse of the Year Awards, the March of Dimes recognizes nurses who demonstrate exceptional patient care, compassion and service.
Craig, who is a nurse researcher, is responsible for all nursing research activities at CentraState. She is a member of the Institutional Review Board and chair of the Nursing Research Committee. She recently completed a three-year research project that was designed to study the effects of interruptions of the nurse administering medications at the bedside.
