MILLSTONE — Township officials have announced its spring curbside cleanup which will take place Monday, April 7.
All items should be placed curbside by 6 a.m. Haulers will have until April 11 to complete cleanup, but each road will only receive one pass.
Appliances such as refrigerators, washers and dryers will be picked up, all doors must be removed from appliances.
Prohibited items include those that weigh over 200 pounds, rocks, stones, leaves, logs, grass, slate concrete, motor vehicles, motor vehicle parts or their components, tires, wheels, gas tanks, propane tanks, water softener tanks, treated wood, metal pipe, barrels, recyclable items, hazardous materials or liquid waste.
In addition, electronic devices such as computers, computer accessories, monitors, TVs, radios, telephones, cameras VCRs, DVD players, stereo components, etc. – such items can be dropped off at the Department of Public Works Garage Recycling Center, 899 Perrineville Road. The center is open Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wheels, metal pipes and barrels are also prohibited for the pickup, but can be dropped off at salvage yards such as Beacon Metals in Freehold or Blewett, Inc. in Howell. Propane tanks can be traded in or refilled at home improvement stores such as Lowes or Home Depot.
Hazardous materials such as paints can be taken to the County Reclamation Center in Tinton Falls by appointment by calling 732-683-8686.
