Radio play celebrates Joyce’s ‘The Dead’

Raconteur Radio will present “The Dead Dinner,” a staged radio play and immersive themed-party on March 16 at the Old Franklin Schoolhouse, 491 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen.

The event will offer an elegant turn-ofthe century Irish dinner party with themed cocktails and a radio-theater adaptation of James Joyce’s “The Dead,” featuring period costumes, theatrical lighting, vintage commercials and hundreds of sound effects.

Doors open for cocktails at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., and the performance will begin at 7:45 p.m. Live piano music and Irish ballads, including “The Lass of Aughrim,” will also be featured.
