Since 2008 Karen Thompson has been committed to helping about 25 college students peruse their dreams of working in fashion, by providing them with internships to help them see these dreams through.
This fall Brittany Veasey completed an internship at Lace Silhouettes Lingerie. Her love and passion for bridal wear is what made her choose a career in fashion. Brittany is a native of Doylestown and currently attends Philadelphia University.
While interning at Lace Silhouettes Brittany decided to create her own wedding dress design. “I wanted this project to reflect my love for bridal wear, but also reflect my personality,” says Brittany. “ I added a lot of designs to play with interest and make it look like there was a lot going on, while still making it look like it belongs.”
Brittany’s design is a light purple and lace dress with a large diamond pattern on the bust with pearl accents. The sweet heart neckline is lined with lace and a darker purple ribbon to accent the light purple of the dress.
