   The Holy Cross Lutheran Church Youth Group is hosting a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser from 8am to 11am at the church located at280 Crosswicks Road in Bordentown All proceeds go toward educationalscholarships for our graduating members. Cost is $6 per adult, $3 per child, under 3 is free.

   Burlington County Hadassah Chapter will meet at Temple Har Zion, High and Ridgway streets, Mount Holly. Following refreshments at 12:30 p.m. and brief business meeting at 1 p.m., guest speaker Dr. Robert Fischl, professor emeritus of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Drexel University, will display 14 posters illustrating artwork created by his cousin, Sonja Fischerova, while imprisoned in the Terezin concentration camp 1942-1944. The images in her legacy provide a unique humanistic view to learn about the Holocaust and tolerance. Guests are welcome. Call 609 291-9513.

   Bordentown Regional Middle School will be the site of a Coach/Vera Bradley handbag bingo and mini gift auction on Friday, March 28. Doors open at 6 p.m. with games beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $25 and includes 16 games of bingo and 5 gift auction tickets. All proceeds benefit the Peter Muschal Elementary School PTA.    A free 10 a.m. Open House and a special service honoring the 212th birthday of Dorothea Dix featuring a presentation of “Compassion in Action: The Life and Good Works of Dorothea Dix” by Dr. Michael Skelly, historian and executive director of Bordentown Heritage, will be held at the Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community, 39 Park St., Bordentown Dr. Skelly will tell the story of Dorothea Dix, who overcame a troubled family background to become a champion of the humane treatment of people with mentally illness, taking her case to lawmakers, presidents, the pope, and kings.    Holy Cross Lutheran Preschool annual Open House andregistration will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Enrollment for preschoolwill be open to the public and registration will be accepted on afirst-come, first-served basis.    The Bordentown City Cats animal rescue group will host its 11th annual indoor flea market fundraiser 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Carslake Community Center, 207 Crosswicks St., Bordentown City, with all proceeds benefiting the group’s efforts to rescue and care for the city’s stray and feral cat population. The cost to rent space is $20 (contact the group and pay in advance). The community center will be open the night before the market from 4 to 7 p.m. for advance setup.    The Bordentown Elks will hold a flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rain date is Sat., May 3.
