The New Egypt Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will be holding itsAnnual Chicken Salad and Bake Sale and Vendor/ Craft Show on Sunday, March 30 from 10 a.m. to – 2 p.m.
Chicken salad will cost $6.50 per pint and $13 per quart. Preorders must be in by Friday, March 21.

The AARP will be offering free tax preparation assistance Wednesdays through April 9 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Plumsted branch of the Ocean County Library.
The AARP tax aide program will electronically complete and file federal and state tax returns free of charge. Though it is offered free to all taxpayers, special emphasis is provided for those over the age of 60 or with low to moderate income.

The Plumsted Business Merchants Association will hold its annual business expo on Saturday, March 22 at the Dr. Gerald H. Woehr Elementary School in New Egypt from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is open to members and non-members. Cost for the event will be $40 for a table for members and $50 for non-members with a 50 percent discount for a second table.
Registration forms will be available online beginning in February or you can email [email protected] and one will be sent to you – provide full mailing address and name. Advertising opportunities may be available for the event to give local businesses more exposure.
The event will also have a table set up where local merchants can leave their business cards or other contact information.

With spring around opening day for New Egypt baseball is scheduled for Saturday, April 5 at 9 a.m.
Among new offerings for the 2014 season is interleague play with the Allentown/Upper Freehold League. Interleague games will be played in New Egypt and behind the Allentown High School.
A winter thaw tournament has also been scheduled for the last two weekends in March, and a season long raffle will be held with a grand prize of a trip for two to Wrigley Field in Chicago in July or August.

NEST!- Nurture Environmental Stewardship Today!, a nonprofit organization based out of Plumsted Township, is hosting a Bluebird festival on Saturday, May 3.
The organization is seeking volunteers and youth groups to help make this event a great success for all.

The Plumsted Youth for Nature and the Environment is celebrating Earth Day on Saturday, April 12 by holding a litter cleanup from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., to celebrate Earth Day by cleaning up litter in our community.
Friends, families, school clubs, scouting groups, youth groups, etc. are invited to pull together a volunteer crew and pitch in. Individuals can join in as well.
Pre-registration is appreciated. Participants are asked to register by April 1. Trash bags and gloves will be provided. A limited number of pick-up sticks will also be available to borrow.
Participants will be asked to report to the municipal building, 121 Evergreen Road, at 9 a.m. April 12 to pick up maps and receive collection instructions and supplies.
